Alexandro Baldassin is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Geosciences and Exact Sciences (IGCE), São Paulo State University (UNESP), in Rio Claro, Brazil. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in 2009. His research focuses on parallel systems and high-performance computing, with emphasis on the interaction between hardware and software, including multi-tier memory systems, persistent memory, and transactional memory. His work has appeared in venues such as ACM Computing Surveys, USENIX FAST, and ACM EuroSys, and he has served on the program committee of conferences including PPoPP and SSCAD.
